"Arab" Cycles
C1922.

The theme of trading in one's horse for the more modern (and speedier) bicycle is employed in several poster designs. European manufacturers linked horses and bicycles through brand names associated with cultures that were stereotypically linked to horses, such as cowboys, American Indians, and in this case, Arabs. The "Arab" cycle company, much like Indian in the U.S., focused primarily on motor cycles. They were in business for only 3 years from 1923 to 1926. Perhaps the exotically named English company was too quick to presume modern inventions would negate the desire for a horse.
